Out of Shape
Out of Shape was originally an idea based solely around platforming. This platforming would be supplemented by the player’s ability to change shapes. After much thought we had decided to incorporate a story into it to help engage the player in the world around them. The goal of the game for players was to get to the end of each level but there were some obstacles and puzzles that required them to unlock certain shapes and be creative with their use.
This game demo was made with a team of six, including myself, and I was responsible for helping design the game as well as programming some of the puzzles and all of the player controls. I was also the team lead for this project and helped organize tasks for the members using Asana. Expansions were made on the shapeshifting mechanic to give more specialization to each shape to allow for more complex puzzle crafting.
